Juicing takes all the fiber out of the fruit/veggies so you quickly absorb all the nutrients! Studies have shown that fruit and vegetable juices can boost levels of all the important vitamins, minerals and they are jam packed with antioxidants and beta carotene to help fight disease. Juicing gives your digestive tract a rest because there is no food to break down. We love juicing and it’s been a huge part of my husband’s healing protocol. Juicing is a really easy way to get massive amounts of fruit and veggies because you can drink a lot more than you can eat.

The first thing I tell someone who is diagnosed with cancer is to eliminate all refined and processed sugars. It’s a fuel source for cancer. It’s an indisputable fact that cancer cells consume glucose at a much faster rate than normal cells do. This was discovered in the 1920s by Otto Warburg. He discovered that cancer cells receive their energy differently than a normal cell does. For example, did you know that cancer cells do not need oxygen to survive? This is called anaerobic respiration. A healthy cell needs oxygen to breath and that is called aerobic respiration. Warburg also noticed that cancer cells get their energy by breaking down large amounts of glucose. They require lots of sugar to function. Therefore, if you eliminate their fuel source, you can begin starving them.

Chris Wark, a longterm survivor of colon cancer, promotes that for the first 90 days of healing from cancer, he/she should be strictly plant-based, raw and vegan. This is a jumpstart to healing! You can read his claim for this approach in his book “Chris Beat Cancer but in short, eating raw provides the maximum amount of enzymes, probiotics and nutrition that otherwise would be lost when cooking. Fruit and vegetables contain a lower amount of amino acids which is a fuel source for cancer. Zach completed the 90+ days of this diet and then slowly started adding in more foods but still only plants and at a massive volume.

Over the first year, Zach lost nearly 30 pounds! Everyone attributed the weight loss to the cancer but we disagreed. He was getting healthy and felt so good! He felt better than he has in years. This is solely because he started fueling his body with things that grow in a garden rather than things from a box. He ate real, organic, whole foods.
